About this piece
Truth is a poem or a vulnerable confession about how we may feel disabled in the world due to bad governance or lack of resources. Its a short explanation to enable others peek into the world of the oppressed.
TRUTH
We are blind.
We don't have eyes to see,
We see through consciousness
We are blind, but we are not blinded.
Through our art, we see the beauty of the world.
Through our poetry we see truth.
The truth if corruption and distraction,
The truth that may seem hidden to those who can "see"
We see through the lines of class and race that "separate" us.
We are mute.
We speak words that don't make sounds.
We make sounds that don't bring change.
We can't scream for help that can save our souls.
We are mute, but through our music we speak louder than words ever could.
And the truth can only be heard by those who hear the music.
And mabe we are mute because no one can hear us.
We are crippled.
Crippled by the injustices of a place we call "home"
Crippled by the lies that are told by the lips of those who lie with the truth.
We can't necessarily move, but we can move the world,
We can move the world through our canvas.
The colors we paint light up the path for the world to move forward,
we can move the world towards the Truth brings justice.
We can move towards a better day.
