About this piece
Original
Il-poeżija “aqta’ qalbek” tuża t-tifsira doppja tat-titlu biex tinkoraġġixxi lill-qarrej biex ma jibżax iċedi.
Mingħajr l-att ta’ qtigħ il-qalb, il-possibiltà li tibdel it-tbatija f’xi ħaġa ta’ valur, ma teżistix.
English translation
In Maltese, the phrase “cut your heart” literally means “to give up,” and the poem draws on this dual meaning to encourage the reader not to fear surrender.
Without the act of giving up, the possibility of turning suffering into something valuable would not exist.
