English translation
In our world, most of us say one thing and do another. In such a world, we should come forward for our oppressed brothers. We should be vocal against those who oppress, bring those who work for them to justice and bring justice to our oppressed brothers and sisters. This is the real responsibility of all of us.
এ!ত! আমার ভীষণ বিপদ;
অস্ত্র আমার খাপেই ভরা;
সাচ্চা ইমান বুকে নিয়ে;
English translation
I live holding onto faith,
But do I truly possess sincere belief?
For the sake of survival, I became a slave—
Do I even seek the True Master?
All know me as a fearless lion,
Pride held firm as my weapon!
Yet the tyrant sits within his fortress,
Holding the reins, smiling softly.
Those whom the tyrant oppressed—
I called them dear as life itself,
Gave them the place of brothers,
Told them, “When disaster comes,
I will give my life for you!”
News of them came flying—
They were dying in calamity!
Ah! What a grave trouble for me—
They believed my empty words.
So I replied,
"Have patience, my brothers;
My life is with the chief—
I rented it to him some days ago!"
My brothers will not say
That I broke my word—
I sent them flattened rice and snacks,
Only the life itself I did not give.
We all gathered together—
Others just like me.
They said there would be justice
For those whose sins were full.
What is this! Who stands on the gallows?
These are the oppressed, the wronged!
In this ongoing calamity,
It is their loved ones who are dying!
In the name of justice—a mockery—
At last, my eyes were opened.
I went to my oppressed brothers,
Held their hands and asked forgiveness.
They held my hands and said,
"We forgive—forgetting it all."
Hearing this—
The chief rebuked me harshly,
His eyes burning red.
He said, “If you go too far,
You will lose that rented life of yours!”
I went to the chief and shouted—
"Give me what is mine!
My life you took on rent—
Return it lawfully!"
But the usurper, the hyena-like chief,
Devours what belongs to others.
Even if I regain my life,
The wealth of my honor and dignity—
Who has seized and auctioned it away?
Now I know—
It is the tyrant who plays the chief.
My weapon still rests in its sheath—
But I will draw it out.
Now is the time—
With true faith in my heart,
Becoming a servant of the True Master—
I will strike the tyrant’s fortress,
Shatter his palace to dust.
I will bind them in chains,
And call my oppressed brothers—
Come, deliver their justice.
