What makes a country

About this piece
It's a reminder that tho we are different, we are one.
Being in the presence of a countryman/mate will make us feel at home in a foreign land.
Or sharing your stories'/ cultural experiences with people you meet and hearing theirs you'll laugh at the similarities in culture
What makes a country
If not its people?
We may migrate and explore,
But home will always be home.
The culture richly embedded,
We all know our fellow countryman
By image, accent, apparel—just name it.
A country is its people and the country their home
No matter where we travel or how much beauty we behold.
Our hearts will always long for home;
Our appetite craves the delicacies only our countries could master,
Relishing the flavor and spices blended to create
Guyanese pepperpot, Trini doubles,
Jamaican ackee and saltfish, Pakistani nihari naming a few.
Taste of the culture,
Every country boasts its food is best;
Our soil, seas, rivers, ethnicity varies,
Love, kindness, and culture unifies us immensely.
