About this piece
This is a poem that is aimed at the rooted judgments of our communities toward men who are going through a lot in life. I have omitted the poem from my theatre play called Ntokozo "Joy."
Never judge a book by it’s cover.
Is a means to say, never judge a poor man.
Never judge a man in isolation.
Never judge a man that broken, that’s forsaken.
I am forever thinking of….! If I, knew the never judge I am preaching.
then am I not judging?
Process, the, you being the man.
“where to seek help from”
The, fewest random once.
Like, She did, Lili your Cinderella.
Under your umbrella. (Shelter)
Shared monumental moments, built for the future.
Sooner! You where going to be a mother, father, that’s poor.
To later breakup!
Not to separate physically, but mentally and emotionally.
In this life is a marathon.
On your mark, get set, ready and go at your own pace.
Because she left you this case!
