About this piece
In this poem, "The Journey of the Sun", the main four seasons of the world are linked up in sequence, with their typical characteristics.
When the sun travels to a distance,
Winter steps in stealthily,
casting its chilly snow on the plane
cursing animals to hibernate
as vegetation is subdued.
The table will soon turn around
to welcome a new day
when the sun comes back,
gradually stepping on the horizon,
to clear the snow with its breath.
The plants rise to their feet again,
smiling broadly with colourful flowers
for all to see their beauty.
Birds begin to sing on treetops
as Spring is next to reign.
Tell the withered trees;
"Begin to display your green leaves again".
Tell the runaway animals,
"Come back home,
"Come back to enjoy the warmth of Spring".
Sooner than later is Summer,
casting its bright light on the environ
to lengthen the daytime
while temperature reaches its peak
as the sun takes the centre-stage
Then, who forgets Autumn?
Bringing back the memory of Winter
as leaves begin to change colour,
temperature starts a downward trend.
Remember, the sun will soon travel again!
