About this piece
This is the message that talks about humanity,Freedom and Solidarity. This is the reminder that all of us are just one big Family with common interests and so to say we need to consolidate and support each other.
THE COMMONWEALTH QUILT
In the midst of brokenness, threads were found, the stitches of hope for humanity; a stitchery calling brethren together as different threads woven into one quilt of humanity.
The hope that was once broken, but now rebuilt.
The hope that was once hidden, but now seen, only when we look into the depths of the human heart and see ourselves for who we truly are.
Zambia, a patch of the Commonwealth Quilt, and her children, the threads of its fabric. There is hope, hope from pain to progress, hope from poverty to productivity, hope from impossible to possible.
Africa, no single patch makes the whole quilt. When you and your brethren are sewn together, free from injustice, slavery, discrimination, colonialism, and manipulation, but bound instead by love, support, and embrace as different threads of one united fabric, you will not only be remembered as a surviving patch, but as the patch that makes a difference to the whole quilt.
Your past will not outgrow you.
Your shame will not outlast you.
Your struggle will not outlive you.
Your story shall become the hope that was once broken but now stands as an anchor of humanity, the patch that helps complete the Commonwealth Quilt.
For in isolation, we are a broken family; but in solidarity, we are rebuilt as the family we have always been since the very beginning, a Commonwealth Quilt once torn, but now reformed.
