The Clockmaker of Forgotten Rain

there lived a clockmaker of forgotten rain.
He gathered silent drops from yesterday's storms
and hid them inside silver gears.
Each morning, he wound the sky with patience,
turning clouds like pages
The Clockmaker of Forgotten Rain
In a town where shadows stitched the streets,
there lived a clockmaker of forgotten rain.
He gathered silent drops from yesterday's storms
and hid them inside silver gears.
Each morning, he wound the sky with patience,
turning clouds like pages of an unread book.
Birds carried minutes in their wings,
while rivers hummed the language of time.
No one knew his true name.
Children called him Keeper of Echoes,
for every clock he built
remembered something the world had lost.
One clock held the laughter of a distant summer.
Another preserved the scent of old libraries,
where dreams slept between dusty pages
and moonlight wandered without a map.
Years drifted by like paper boats.
The town grew louder, faster, brighter.
People chased numbers across glowing screens,
forgetting the music beneath the hours.
Yet the clockmaker continued his work.
On the final evening of autumn,
he opened the tallest clock tower.
Thousands gathered below as golden hands
paused for the first time in a century.
Then something extraordinary happened.
From every clock emerged forgotten moments:
first friendships, unfinished songs,
kind words never spoken aloud,
and promises waiting beside old roads.
The memories floated through the air
like lanterns seeking their stars.
For one perfect night,
everyone remembered who they had been.
When dawn arrived, the tower stood empty.
The clockmaker had vanished.
Only a small note remained:
Time is not what you spend.
Time is what you become while it passes.
And whenever gentle rain falls unexpectedly,
the townspeople still listen closely,
certain they can hear tiny silver gears
turning somewhere beyond the clouds.
