Shadows, Inherently Mine

About this piece
The poem is about shadows that we carry, inherently mine. A hidden persona that makes who we are in reality. We are made of two worlds within, one in the light and the other shadows. The task isn't to run or avoid it but to embrace it as it is. Journey of self acceptance.
Poetry
Shadows, Inherently Mine
Shadows,
Inherently mine
Cast upon
Run, Hide, Suppress, Swallow
Unleash, mind murmurs
Avoid, Deny
A hidden leash, an invisible rope.
Holding me, to never let me be.
Shadows,
Inherently Mine
A silent slithering serpent,
Darkness it lurks,
A cautious bowed head,
Hissing, waiting,
Echo swirls in whispers,
Shoooo,
Tis, inherently mine!
Cracks in a broken vessel,
The endless sequels,
Defragmented self,
Assiduous follower -
Jolts
now and then,
Boldly declares its presence,
Makes me wholly and unwholly,
Shadows,
I embrace you,
After all, inherently mine
