About this piece
This poem serves a message from a man who has fallen deeply in love with a woman after a long search for a suitable partner for himself. In his search he found nothing but pain and disappointment, but this time he is sure that he has found the rightful partner thus he appreciates
Welcome
Come in.
You are welcome,
You who shines like the morning sun.
As Lovely as butterflies come
under the morning summer sun.
Who would refuse one with a smile
as beautiful as a flower's blossoming?
eyes like ravens in pools of milk,
teeth whiter than snow
and a face smoother than an apple.
As beautiful
as a king's treasure.
You have a body all the maidens desire.
Your arrival
has been long awaited, you sweet stranger
Though I would love to enquire,
why is it I you have chosen over
the gentlemen with better attire?
Men with smoother words than a soothsayer,
and princess with all the splendour.
Oh, don't bother to answer my love
disbelief hovers over
the head of your lover.
Your presence brings me no danger, so I trust.
Ere you I was a barricaded island
Ravaged by beasts
I once welcomed in my past.
Then you came like a dew
and gently laid hold of my heart.
Now I'm a kingdom without a knight,
a castle without a fortress.
For you I reopen my treasure chest,
my heart is your dining spot
and my mind is your court.
My spirit you elate
and my whole world you set alight.
You found me
I was a bird perishing in frost
groaning with all hope lost.
You gave me a home so warm
I said here is where I will breathe my last.
I will love you for as long as my flesh and spirit
have not been set apart.
