This poem captures the magic of chasing sunrise with my best friend. It's a vivid tale of sisterhood, nature's beauty, and deep connections. From soulful conversations to a deer's trusting gaze, the poem weaves a tapestry of wonder and love.
Sisterhood
We chased the dawn, side by side
Sisterhood and sunrise, a perfect tide
We watched the world wake up, just us two
Sharing secrets, laughter, and dreams anew
Deep soulful convos, hearts laid bare
Words spilled like the lake's gentle wave there
Honest talks flowed, like the water's stream
Connecting deeper, a sisterly dream
The rising sun, a majestic blaze
Painted the sky, in fiery gaze
Golden hues danced, clouds ablaze with light
A masterpiece unfolding, pure delight
The lake's grandeur, a sight to see
Reflections of wonder, just you and me
Water rippled calm, mirrored the sky's fire
A moment's magic, our hearts' desire
Nature’s tapestry woven with wonder all around
Nature's beauty, in vibrant sound
Birds sang sweet melodies, trees swayed free
A symphony of life, wild and glee
A deer's soft eyes, met ours in trust
Humbling moment, in the wild's hush
In that gaze, a connection profound
Nature's wisdom, our spirits wound
In nature's calm, our souls entwined
Chasing sunrise, a memory divine
A bond strengthened, hearts now more aligned
Sisterhood and dawn, a perfect find

Growing up in Trinidad & Tobago a multicultural society has provided a foundation of love and appreciation for people of different cultural backgrounds. Like all 56 Commonwealth countries, Trinidad and Tobago has been influenced by many cultures of various countries (Spain, Great Britian, France, Africa, India to name a few). This foundation of love and appreciation for different cultures and races fosters a deep desire to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood, to empower women, to stand together for the greater good of our Countries and by extension the world in keeping with the Commonwealth theme of “unity in diversity”.
