About this piece
Of Spoons is a poem discussing Overpopulation. It is condemning the act of having multiple kids when you don't have the resources. It explores how the child views their parents decision and also applauding parents that gave their children resources.
Of Spoons
It was never about the cutlery
No matter the calibre
Yes it was silver and in their mouth
But they never had to apologize
Theirs planned for efficiency
While mine lived in the moment
Value was left but life was lived
Whether jolly,It depends on who you ask
For I truly wish mine planned
Scorn wouldn't be a daily encounter
Apparently the bare minimum needs applause
Truly I commend you
Feeding your creation needs an ovation
For a silver spoon you couldn't afford
You can not shame others for planning
Shame should be your companion
Yes, it came on a silver platter
But the platter was borne of blood
Blood you do have but silver is nonexistent
You say atleast you are alive
But is this really living?
They were building steps
While you were sliding down slopes
Now both our bottoms are burnt
And they are climbing
A step at a time
Unlike sand you should have been
You shared your limbs
And now, your selflessness is selfish
Today I give you a new testament
Stop playing God
Truly your responsibility isn't just creation
A doppelganger is enticing
Mini-me should be worrying
For what if they are truly me?
Lots of relations
Little connections
Lesser nourishment
Meager opportunities
For you are here
But is your existence exciting?
Would you wish it upon me?
