I Am Made of Pieces

About this piece
A poetic expression of identity, resilience, and growth. I Am Made of Pieces reflects how life’s experiences, culture, and womanhood come together—like a quilt—to form something whole, intentional, and powerful.
I am made of pieces
not broken—
but gathered.
Threads of a mother’s strength,
woven through sleepless nights
and soft lullabies.
Stitched with ambition,
in colors bold and unapologetic—
gold like purpose,
pink like softness,
black like power.
I come from islands that speak in rhythm,
where stories live in voices,
in movement,
in survival.
I create because I carry more
than words can hold.
Because expression is my language
when silence is too small.
Every idea I touch
becomes something living—
a vision, a brand, a moment,
a feeling someone else can wear, see, or remember.
I am building—
not just things,
but legacy.
And like a quilt,
I am not one story—
I am many,
stitched together with intention,
held by faith,
and designed to last.
