Becoming A Poet Again

About this piece
A poem addressed to "child of my mother", a learner born different who needs a special approach. It demands that institutions, governments and entities meet those needs as fully as anyone else's — quality equipment, technology and assessment — and insists that inability must never be reshaped into the system's square of disability.

Child of my mother,
You were born Different
You were born unique ,
should i say special
You were born a special case that needed careful cautious handling
That ; does not mean you are anyhow excluded from the world
Child of my mother
You get in a class and deserve the same level
of respect education offers
Your table of intelligence should also be set
Child of my mother
Your type of learning
Fortunately is as you are
Unique
It requires a speacial approach
So this is for you ;
We demand that because you did not
Plan on being special but God made you so
for a purpose
A purpose that you are serving
Which is to open the eyes of institutions
To open the eyes of governments
Groups and entities
It has become paramountly important
That
Your needs are served
Dished to you equally as great as mine
Your learning is essential as mine is
I would say to them,.
child of my mother
that they should not shy away from the technology you require , a special breed of course
something to up their socks
machinery , equipment, instruments directed to you
are of high quality value
because you
child of my mother are high quality
Your inabilities should never be shaped into
The square of disability
the system has to unearth your capabilty
With a soft reminder with no noise
like your personal car that ;
You did not choose to be born that way
Child of my mother
