About this piece
In 2026, my partner's younger brother died unexpectedly. His even younger brother committed suicide in his 20's. Sensing his pain, I finally asked my partner how he was. "Lonely." The one word ached. My poem sends threads of love and hope to my partner and people everywhere.
An Anchor Of Thread
Loneliness
Feeling frayed in an unpredictable world
I turn, out of control, chaos winding closer
Grasp one thin thread
See another
Reach
Weave two into one
Make something from nothing
A solid thing, soft enough to hold
Yet its spellbinding strength strong
Anchoring
Enough to seam forward
