IDFA Bertha Fund Filmmaker’s Grants

The IDFA Bertha Fund (IBF) is dedicated to strengthening independent, author-driven documentary filmmaking in regions and communities where access to funding and distribution for independent creative documentary film is structurally challenging—across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania.

There are several funding opportunities provided under the IBF, including the Classic Project Development Grant, which provides a grant of up to €7,500 per project. Submissions must come from a director from a country on the IBF Classic Country List. The deadline for entries is 10 February 2026.
