About this piece
A poem about a woman weaving words and emotions into a canvas, chapter by chapter: fear hooks the reader first, then intrigue, anger, hunger, and a doubt that grips "like death's claws". The pages stay empty for a while until thirst pulls her back, and she stitches the whole contradictory creation tight.
she weaved the words together with
everything that went on inside her head.
her words clashed with her emotions
at some places.
at the others, they spun just right.
her canvas was turning into
a scene she would not forget, and
neither would her onlookers.
in the first chapter,
her fear hooked the reader.
in the second came intrigue.
anger ruled the third,
hunger sprawled over the next four.
doubt struck her in the eighth,
gripping her like death's claws.
the next few pages stayed empty for a while.
then thirst pulled her back.
she managed to knit her emotions,
stitched them tight onto the canvas.
the patterns at some spots
made her cringe.
this was her creation, a culmination
a cauldron of everything that resided within her.
these were the colours she carried.
