How To Make A Commonwealth Quilt

In the lead up to the 2026 Commonwealth People’s Forum in Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth Foundation invites all Commonwealth citizens to submit their creative ‘thread’ to a global Commonwealth Quilt. Artists and non-artists alike are encouraged to share their response to the creative prompt ‘Thread’ from Commonwealth Poet Laureate, Selina Tusitala Marsh. Across visual, literary and performance art, the Commonwealth Quilt offers citizens a chance to creatively express themselves and connect globally. A selection of entrants from every region will have their creative ‘thread’ displayed at a physical exhibition in Antigua and Barbuda in November 2026. These featured contributors will also receive £200.

Please read our Guidelines on how to participate and Frequently Asked Questions before entering. The Commonwealth Foundation reserves the right to remove contributions that are offensive, discriminatory, produced using Generative AI, or plagiarised.

If you are having trouble submitting your entry, please contact creatives@commonwealthfoundation.com. Compressing file sizes may assist you in ensuring your entry fits the requirements for submission.
