The Propel Cambridge Poetry Prize

Are you an emerging poet ready to share your work more widely? The University of Cambridge have announced that they are accepting submissions for The Propel Cambridge Poetry Prize, created in collaboration with Propel Magazine. This is an opportunity for early-career poets to gain recognition, connect with the Cambridge community and develop their craft.
Submissions will be judged by Bhanu Kapil, a renowned award-winning poet, and the winning submission will receive £750. All shortlisted poets will also be invited to an online workshop with tutors from the University of Cambridge. This opportunity is open to all poets worldwide who have not yet published a full length poetry collection. Entries to the prize are totally free to make and submissions close on 31 January 2026.

Enquiries about submissions should be directed to Propel Magazine. Please always refer to their website for complete details and information.

Please note, this call is run by Propel Magazine, not the Commonwealth Foundation.
