Gender, climate change and health: how can we do better for women and girls? Recommendations from Civil Society

Civil society from across the Commonwealth worked together in August 2023 to develop gender-responsive recommendations to address health inequality and climate change.

The Commonwealth Foundation convened an online Critical Conversation roundtable with policy and civil society experts on ‘Gender, climate change and health’. Over 400 gender equality and climate experts along with civil society leaders from across the Commonwealth gathered to reflect on progress and barriers to climate action and health equity, using a gender lens. A set of
10 recommendations were developed from the roundtable, post-event working sessions, and the participant survey.

The recommendations were shared with Ministers and Senior Officials at the 13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministerial Meeting in August 2023.
