Issue
Opportunities to participate in theatre productions in Saint Lucia are limited.
How we are helping
This project aims to enhance the theatre community in Saint Lucia by training emerging writers, actors and theatre professionals through the development of a theatrical production.
About the project
In Saint Lucia, there is strong interest in theatre, yet limited opportunities for training and participation in productions. The theatrical landscape is largely seasonal, with government funding primarily supporting performances for special events.
The Daily Piper, Freedom Project is a theatrical training and production initiative that will guide participants through the page-to-stage process, equipping them with skills in creative writing, acting, and technical theatre production. The project will include creative writing workshops, performance training, and technical theatre workshops. It will culminate in a national theatrical production, as part of the 2025 Nobel Laureate Festival.
As a result of the project, it is hoped that emerging writers, actors and theatre professionals will have more opportunities for participation in theatre, leading to a more vibrant theatre community in Saint Lucia.
