This project aims to promote the best Barbadian literature through the development of a new website.
About the project
Story Shyft have identified that talented Barbadian and Caribbean writers, including those published by regional presses, remain underrepresented in international markets.
This project will support talented writers in reaching new audiences through an updated website that will present contemporary Caribbean literature in interactive and engaging ways. Story Shyft will collaborate with ArtsEtc Barbados, publisher of the annual Indy List, to feature some of the best local literature on the website. The web developer who created the game programme (Spellin Blox) for Bajan Book Blox is Laurkan Rodriguez.
As a result of the project, it is hoped that featured authors and publishers will benefit from increased online visibility, higher social media engagement, and growth in both online and offline sales.

Story Shyft is a literary based interactive media and experience design company. Based in Barbados, they ‘shyft’ Caribbean books and poems into experiences and products to bring our stories to new audiences and immerse fans even more in the story worlds they know and love.
ArtsEtc is an independent Barbadian publishing house and cultural resource, involved in literary development, education, cultural activism, rights management, and literary event planning. It was founded in 2003 by writers Linda M. Deane and Robert Edison Sandiford.
Their aim is to be the premier cultural resource for Barbados, offering readers independent, authoritative, entertaining, and timeless perspectives in words and pictures on all aspects of the nation's arts.
We support people's participation in democracy and development by providing grants, platforms, and expertise.
