By supporting a project that encourages the people of Kiribati to engage in creative writing, thereby advancing the development of Kiribati’s literary scene.
About the project
The project will seek to generate interest in creative and non-fiction writing from local government by providing creative writing training for Kiribati’s 23 mayors. By improving literary skills, the project will support the mayors in their leadership roles and enable more transparent working.
The project will also deliver a creative writing workshop for students and other interested young writers, encouraging them to consider becoming novelists and writers by publishing their work.
We support people's participation in democracy and development by providing grants, platforms, and expertise.
