How we are helping

Supporting our partners to create spaces that allow for the development of literary skills, enabling Fijian writers and poets to elevate their craft and position themselves as significant contributors to the region’s broader literature scene.

About the project

The project aims to ensure that the literary landscape in Fiji can flourish by establishing opportunities for poetry and other writing within the current context of limited government funding for the arts in Fiji. To overcome this, the project will identify writers via an open call, provide skills development and capacity building workshops, and deliver a planned anthology.

Project Partners
The Poetry Shop Fiji

The Poetry Shop Fiji is a network of spoken word poets working in and around Suva that came together out of the need to create spaces where emerging poets and writers can organise, share work and ideas, and establish a community.
