This project aims to nurture and empower young Caribbean artists, offering resources, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
About the project
Despite the Caribbean’s rich cultural heritage, many emerging artists face barriers to resources, mentorship, and professional development. Artist communities on small islands like Nevis are particularly affected.
This project will provide young female artists in Nevis with mentorship, skill-building, and a platform to showcase their work. Participants will receive guidance and support to develop their talents and artistic identities through the provision of funding for artist stipends, mentorship sessions and exhibitions.
As a result of the project, it is hoped that participants will have refined their skills and strengthened their artistic voices; positioning themselves within the Caribbean arts scene.
Project Partners
Island Girls Rock (IGR) empowers Caribbean women and girls, fostering cultural pride and connections through events and mentorship. Their mission is to provide spaces for sharing stories and experiences while inspiring growth and empowerment across the Caribbean and its Diaspora.
We support people's participation in democracy and development by providing grants, platforms, and expertise.
