The Farm Artist Residency 2025

DURING THE RESIDENCY:

The residency is focused on site-specific projects, created during an eight-week period through research and collaboration while living at The Farm. The Farm offers space and time for artists, as individuals or a group, to consider our place in the natural environment, surrounded by the ancient beauty of South West Western Australia. Any work that arises from the residency or from collaborations should reflect your time spent at The Farm. You will be supported to share your work with the local community.

WHO CAN APPLY:

Visual artists, as either individuals or groups.

  • Applicants must be at least 18-years-old.
  • Applicants must have a good level of written and spoken English.
  • Applicants must be emerging or professional practising visual artists and be recognised as such by their peers.
  • It is strongly advised that applicants hold their own Australian or international drivers licence, as alternative transport options in the region are limited.
  • The Funded Residency is an inclusive program, and creatives of all backgrounds and professional stages are encouraged to apply.

RESIDENCY GRANT:

In addition to accommodation in our self-contained artists studios, the successful artist or group will receive a grant of $7,500 (ex. GST) to cover out-of-pocket expenses.

  • The grant covers all fees, costs and expenses incurred by the artist in undertaking the residency including all materials and equipment required during the residency, all other travel and accommodation costs, insurance premiums, food, freight and other out of pocket expenses.
  • TFMR will arrange, book and pay for travel expenses to the property from the artist’s place of residence if required, and host the artist on the property in self-sustained studio accommodation.
