Riddle Fence Fiction and Poetry Competitions

Riddle Fence is a hub for fast-paced literature from Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada, and around the world. They’re trying to unearth the best contemporary writing and art.

They publish poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, features and reviews alongside contemporary art.

For their current fiction and poetry contests, winners will be awarded $1,000 and be included in their upcoming magazine issues. Entries are open to Canadian citizens and residents. Entries are also free to make for BIPOC writers. The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2026.
