Carol Shields Prize for Fiction

We are delighted to share that the Carol Shields Prize for Fiction is now open for submissions from novels, short story collections and graphic novels written by women and non-binary writers in Canada and the United States for an adult audience.

Submission Period 1:
Entries for books published between 1 January 2023 – 31 July 2023, must be received on or before 16 June, 2023.

Submission Period 2:
Entries for books published between 1 August 2023 – 31 December 2023, must be received on or before 13 October, 2023.

All books and entry forms must be submitted and filled out by the book’s publisher.

Prize:

a) The winner will be awarded $150,000 USD

b) Four finalists will each receive $12,000 USD
