About the People’s Forum

The Commonwealth People’s Forum is held every two years alongside the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). It is the single largest opportunity for civil society—the people of the Commonwealth—to engage with Commonwealth leaders on the most pressing issues of our times.

Support available for delegate-led sessions

Organisers of delegate-led sessions selected for inclusion in the Commonwealth People’s Forum programme are invited to apply for funding to assist speakers, presenters and other contributors involved in the session to attend and participate in the Forum. Please note that funding is limited and applications will be considered subject to the availability of funds.

Contribution towards participation costs

The Foundation will provide a grant of up to £3,000 per successful nominee – to be administered through the nominating organiser – to contribute towards costs associated with participation. This represents the maximum level of support available, and any additional costs must be covered by the organisation or delegate. Recipients are expected to attend and participate fully in the Forum. Successful nominations are non-transferable.

Responsibilities of successful sponsored delegates

Ahead of the Forum, successfully nominated sponsored delegates will be required to:

Apply for and receive Forum accreditation through the official CHOGM 2026 accreditation portal by 30 September.
Where applicable, make and manage all travel and accommodation arrangements to attend the Forum, including visas and appropriate insurances.
Where applicable, advise the Foundation’s Hospitality Liaison of confirmed travel and accommodation arrangements by 9 October.
Attend any briefing sessions organised by the Commonwealth Foundation for sponsored delegates.

At the Forum, sponsored delegates are required to:

Participate fully in all three days of the Forum, including relevant plenary sessions, workshops and delegate-led sessions.
Where applicable, deliver or contribute to their approved delegate-led session.
Where invited, participate in the Civil Society Roundtable with Foreign Ministers.
Support the Commonwealth Foundation in capturing the outcomes of the Forum by participating in interviews, photography or other communications activities where requested.

Following the Forum, sponsored delegates are required to:

Submit a short feedback report (or complete an evaluation survey) within two weeks of the Forum, reflecting on: how they contributed to the Forum; key insights and learning; new partnerships or opportunities developed; how they intend to apply or share learning within their organisation or community, etc.
Participate in a short online debrief session, if requested.
