Areas of focus

Our work is organised around three main areas of focus that reflect the priorities of the Commonwealth, its people and its institutions. These areas of focus have been refined through a strategic review to anchor the Foundation even more firmly to the spirit of the Commonwealth Charter. Read our current strategic plan

  • Cross-cutting themes

    Our cross-cutting themes are infused in everything we do; they are a part of how we think and how we work.

  • Gender equality

    We understand that gender inequality is a major challenge to our vision of a Commonwealth of just and inclusive societies.

  • Small and vulnerable states

    We recognise that civil society in some of our Member States requires special attention and support.

  • Young people

    We ensure that young people's involvement in the Foundation's work is actively sought and encouraged.
