The Bare Bones Book of Speculative Fiction

Bare Bones, an independent publishing house based in Gurugram, India, is looking for speculative fiction with a literary bent—folkloric, contemporary, historical, otherworldly, magic realist, surreal, dark, horror, etc.—for their forthcoming print anthology, The Bare Bones Book of Speculative Fiction, edited by Tejaswinee Roychowdhury.

Eligibility Criteria

Writers from all over the world, aged 18 and above, can submit their work.

Submission Guidelines

The book is meant for adult readers; both general and mature themes are welcome.

Submissions must be original, previously unpublished or previously published in print only, exclusive (preferred but not a strict requirement), free of plagiarism, and without any use of AI.

Submission Deadline: 25 August 2025
