Mithika D’Cruz

Mithika joined the Commonwealth Foundation in 2016 as Senior Programme Officer for Knowledge and Learning.

She supports the Foundation and its partners in monitoring, learning and sharing, particularly with regard to the impact they make on the communities and governments they work with.

Mithika brings a wealth of experience in development programming and institutionalising learning for better policy and practice; from implementing education models in rural Gujarat, to stewarding international collaboration on climate change adaptation in semi-arid Maharashtra, India.

She has previously worked in grassroots and policy research organisations in India including the Centre for Environment Education, Indian Institute of Dalit Studies and Watershed Organisation Trust; also volunteering in the Bolivian Amazon. Mithika’s area of focus has been in rural development working with excluded local communities.

Most recently Mithika synergised monitoring and reporting for the DFID supported TESS-India project at the International Development Office at Open University, UK.

Mithika has a MA in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Outside her professional life she is an enthusiastic long distance runner and enjoys exploring new food and the great outdoors.
