How we are helping

The project is supporting writers’ development in Sierra Leone via the Poda-Poda Stories fellowship project.

About the project

The Poda-Poda Stories fellowship project is a community development project that aims to train a young Sierra Leonean (ages 18-35) on the basics of the publication and literary arts world. The focus is to intellectually stimulate young people on the importance of the literary arts to help build a better Sierra Leone.

The fellowships function within the three pillars of learning, support, and implementation where the fellows will learn the basics of editing and publishing while honing their writing skills via workshops. Under the pillar of support, the fellows would gain hands-on experience with their administrative support of the Poda-Poda Stories staff in addition to assistance with social media content creation. The final pillar requires that the fellows develop and implement a project which will be the capstone of the fellowship.
