Issue
The KomezArt gallery represents a diverse group of talented artists, many of whom need training on marketing, artistic vision, and personal management tools so that they can effectively promote their work and build their careers.
How we are helping
The grant will contribute to training facilitators to lead the workshops, coaching sessions, resources to strengthen relationships, the costs of documenting the workshops and digitalising content for greater distribution to reach more artists outside of the grant period.
About the project
The project will provide artists with the knowledge and tools to create professional portfolios, write compelling artist statements, and develop effective marketing strategies to present themselves and their work. It will offer coaching sessions to help artists apply these marketing skills to their own work. Additionally, it will develop clearer perspective about long-term career development and create a community of practice through the productive use of critique and analysis while developing new philosophies around the production of creating artwork through mentorship and engagement.
The project will further extend preliminary outcomes through the digitalisation of programme content to reach significantly more artists with open-source tools and enhance the reputation and visibility of our gallery through the improved presentation and professionalism of the artists we represent.
