As the Deputy Director-General Myn has responsibility for Programmes including Grants. She led the Foundation in developing its Strategic Framework for 2012-16 and 2017-2020; integrating results-based management across the organisation.
Myn comes to the Commonwealth Foundation with extensive and multidisciplinary experience in International Development and Communication. Her areas of expertise are participatory governance, peacebuilding, gender, cultural diversity, communications for development, capacity development and knowledge management. She was the Director-Development of the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) funded Afghanistan Technical Assistance Program and was based in Kabul, Afghanistan. Previous to this she was the Canadian Field Programme Manager of GAC’s flagship governance programme Local Governance Support Program in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao in Southern Philippines. Myn has also worked as a Programme Manager at the Laurier Institution, a non-governmental Canadian policy think tank examining the economic and social impact of cultural diversity and peace. She has worked with national and local governments, civil society organisations, international organisations, academia, media and the private sector in Canada, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the wider Commonwealth.
Myn has an MA in Communication and Development from Simon Fraser University School of Communication in British Columbia, Canada, and has authored, edited and published a number of books on governance, capacity development and knowledge management.
