Singapore Literature Prize 2024

Established in 1992, the biennial Singapore Literature Prize (SLP) is Singapore’s top literary prize, with more than 150 past winners. The competition is open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents, whose works of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, comics/graphic novels, and translation, have been published in Singapore or abroad during a specified period of time.  

Objectives

  • To promote Singapore literary talent through due recognition of outstanding published works by Singapore authors across the four official languages: Chinese, English, Malay, or Tamil.
  • To stimulate public interest and support for creative writing in Singapore.

The award carries a top prize of S$3,000 for the winner in each of the literary categories. In addition, the winners will be awarded with a specially-commissioned trophy.
