The 2021 Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize is now open for submissions. This award is open to aspiring, emerging, and also self-published writers anywhere in the world. First prize is a publishing deal with Bonnier Books UK with an advance of £15,000, and up to six shortlisted writers will be offered manuscript development from a top literary consultant.

The complete guidelines for the 2021 contest are as follows:

Deadline: March 7, 2021

1st Prize: a publishing deal with Bonnier Books UK + £15,000 advance*
Runners Up: up to 6 shortlisted writers will be offered manuscript development by a top literary consultant

The Best Unpublished Manuscript is designed to launch the career of aspiring adventure writers. Unpublished and self-published writers are invited to submit their manuscripts to be in with a chance of winning.

To enter, you must not already have a novel published although self-published works are eligible. You must not have a literary agent. There is an entry fee of £49 (£39 early bird by 22 Jan) per submission. They also offer a small number of free entries for those who are unable to pay, as well as some entries with an option of feedback.
