Commonwealth Writers will host a conversation on the legacies of indenture at the Bangalore Literature Festival.
The event will feature readings and discussion from Athol Williams (South Africa) and Deirdre Jonklaas Cadiramen (Sri Lanka), contributors to the anthology We Mark Your Memory: Writing from the Descendants of Indenture.
They will be joined by Simit Bhagat (India), a filmmaker exploring the legacies of indenture through folklore and folk music.
