Commonwealth Writers undertook a week-long collaboration with The Spaces Between Words. Edited by Giselle Rampaul, the site features a podcast series of conversations with writers, many of whom have Caribbean connections.

Marlon James is a novelist from Jamaica. He has published two novels, John Crow’s Devil (2005) and The Book of Night Women (2009). The latter has won the Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Fiction and the Minnesota Book Award. John Crow’s Devil, his first novel, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and was a New York Times Editor’s Choice.
