Job Title: Intern, Governance
Makondo provides assistance to the Governance programme, a set of projects that build a culture of learning in participatory governance, supporting greater civil society engagement.
Makondo brings a unique blend of governance and development experience to the Foundation, acquired through technical research, academic and administrative positions held in Zambia, South Africa, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Holding a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Cape Town, Makondo was also a recipient of the World Bank’s Margaret McNamara award in recognition of her contributions towards improving the lives of women and children in developing countries. Following work with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland, she delivered a large scale development programme with ActionAid Zambia, in addition to supporting the organisation’s governance processes as the Board Liaison Officer.
Passionate about advancing social justice via dialogue with governance, Makondo also loves to travel, immerse herself in new cultures and revel in serene locations. She also has a love affair with food.
