An exciting initiative emerging for 2007 CPF is the People's Space, an area adjacent to the main CPF venue.
The People's Space, opening Monday 19 November, is an open, interactive area and a hive of activity. Cultural performances, mini-workshops, films for conversations, multi-media and for the first time ever at a CPF, the building of a People's Wall of Greatness, will be central to the People's Space.
The People's Space aims at providing a bold, exciting and inclusive experience for more host Nationals to interact with Ugandans of different walks of life. Thousands of people will leave the People's Space with renewed energy to facilitate social change with a clear sense of building the future together. It will also attract participants from other CHOGM events including government officials, the youth, and business community.

- Civil Society organisations – local, regional and international
- Private Sector with special focus on SMEs
- Young Entrepreneurs
- Anybody with something to say!
A series of Spaces are planned - aimed at providing opportunities to share in the diversity and richness of the Commonwealth people.
What are the components of the People's Space?
The Commonwealth Boulevard: Opportunity for people to contribute to the strength and diversity of the Commonwealth through the CPF themes.
Learning journeys Space: A chance for Ugandan communities to network with the CPF participants before and after the journey. An opportunity to building real rapport and future conversations.
Multi-media Exchanges: Activities to enable people of the Commonwealth be part of the proceedings through virtual mediums –Internet Booths, SMS & blogging.
Interaction Leadership Space: Transformational leadership sessions - to give the public a free taste of this acclaimed leadership programme
Films Exchanges: Opportunities for mixed media to stimulate transformational conversations on themes of the CPF.
Creation of a cosmopolitan 'film festival'.
Cultural exchanges: A taste of the “uncommon” aspects of Commonwealth culture - talented artists whose artistic expression is non traditional to their countries - something celebratory.
A performance or exchange that is more than 10 performers will be scheduled on the performance stage.
The Word Exchange: Literature and book writer's space.
Welcome to Uganda: An opportunity for host country – Uganda to share its diverse culture and heritage with the rest of the Commonwealth people.
People's Wall of Greatness: To affirmatively disrupt and change how people think about their countries and the Commonwealth.

When will the space be open to the public?
The space opens for the week of 19 – 24 November 2007, 12.00noon – 9.00pm. Specific times & programme schedules will be publicised in due course.
Where will the People's Space be held?
The People's Space will be held adjacent to the Africana Hotel, hosts of the Commonwealth People's Forum.
